Development Software

Installing software will probably be one of the largest initial hurdles, and unfortunately I can’t help you.  However, there are many excellent techs in the #GamerGate community that can help out.

Operating System

I’m a PC guy, so you’ll need at least Windows 7 for an operating system. I’m using Windows 8.1, if you want your screens to look exactly like mine.

If you’re using a Mac, I can say that my students have had good success with Bootcamp and Parallels.

Development Software

• Microsoft Visual Studio (Community Edition) — for programming your game
• Blender — for creating 3D models & animations
• Gimp — for creating the images textures for your models
• Babylon.js — the 3D WebGL “Game Engine” (save this file somewhere and remember where)
